Welcome!

Hi! Let me introduce myself.  My name is Aurore, and I am just your ordianary everyday girl, except that I LOVE books and cupcakes.  I bake a new recipe about once a week, and I can read one book a day.  Since so much of my "self-time" is spent doing these two things, I have been told I should write a blog to one, share and review new cupcake recipes and two, give you a review on what books are good or not.

I will have to admit that I am a sci-fi and fantasy fanatic so most of my books will be based on that.  I will venture off into a new genre every now and then too.  I also try to read authors that are new, up and coming, or not as popular because there are already many reviews on the popular books.  My reviews will also be non-traditional in the sense that I will probably give spoilers and describe about 25% of the book; although I will not give the climax or the ending away.  The reason I want to do it this way is because I've found so many reviews out there barely touch on what the book is really about.  Once you start reading so many reviews, it feels like the story line is all the same.  By explaining a good part of the book, I feel it'll give readers a real sense of what the book really is about.

I also have to touch on the ongoing debate of paper back books vs electronic books, since I am also somewhat biased on this topic.  I do love the smell and feel of a paperback book, but I've been an e-book reader ever since my husband bought me a Kindle for our anniversary.  There are two main reasons why I feel this way.  The first is the convenience of e-readers. I can carry my Kindle easier than a bulky book, keep multiple books with me, browse the internet, download a book and read it in less than a minute, and can read my books from anywhere I have a kindle app for.  This includes i-phone, i-pad, androids, tablets, and my computer.  Basically, I can acess my books even if I don't have my Kindle on me.  Second, I've found there is such a larger variety of books to chose from.  Not only do I mean you can easily search through different genres, but you find many books from the suggestions section you would have never thought to read of.  In addition, there are many books out there from new authors that are available on e-books only, as they are cheaper to publish.  These authors sort of "test run" their books online for free.  FREE! That's another great reason I love e-books.  There are so many free books, and for a reader like me that can go though a book a day, free is good.

From there, I want to inform you that this blog is mainly about books that I've found on Amazon, for free or very cheap, and from novel authors, some as young as 19!  I'll provide a review and hopefully if you like my synopsis and reveiw, you'll continue on to read the books as well. I will also provide a warning that I am not a professional reviewer and this is purely my opinion.  I'm sure people will disagree with me, but that's alright with me.  I also do give away a lot of the events in the book.  If you aren't a reader, I would also like you to merely enjoy my synopsis and to be able to find the same amount of adventure I find in reading by simply reading my blog.  Basically, I just want to share my love with books with you!

I also intend to hopefully add one cupcake recipe review per week.  I do not create my own recipes, but get them either online or from a book.  I'll add pictures so you can see what they looked like step by step.  By two Mondays from now, I should have two posted up because I am making two types of cupcakes for a birthday party.

I hope you enjoy this blog and find it helpful!
